LIONS CLUB OF DURGAPUR WELFARE TRUST

Lions Care Centre a unit of Lions Club of Durgapur Welfare Trust located in Tagore Avenue, Durgapur, District – Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal, Pin Code- 713204 –was established in 2000 with the objective to provide eye care services to the people of the area towards eradication of preventable blindness and other eye diseases. It is a 15 bedded eye hospital & total space of 16,000 sq.ft. The hospitals having 4 fixed date partners Centres where from a good nos. of patients are coming to hospital for treatment of eye diseases and surgeries. Lions Care Centre have all statutory clearances like 12 A & 80 G under I T Act 1961,

Founded in 1968, the mission of LCIF is to "empower Lions clubs, volunteers, and partners to improve health and well-being, strengthen communities, and support those in need through humanitarian services and grants that impact lives globally, and encourage peace and international understanding."

The National Forum VISION 2020: The Right to Sight: INDIA is a key driver of the World Health Organization-International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (WHO – IAPB) joint global initiative for the elimination of avoidable blindness from India.VISION 2020 INDIA is a national forum with a unique privilege and opportunity to work as a team in mission mode with a laser sharp focus – to eliminate avoidable blindness to a level that it ceases to be a public health problem for the citizens residing in 626 districts in India. In 2016, Lions Care Centre A Unit of Lions Club of Durgapur Welfare Trust has partnered with Vision 2020 INDIA for a collaborative effort to eradicate blindness. Vision 2020 India has been an amazing platform that has been promoting eye health advocacy and bringing like-minded peers on a common platform for a common goal of working together to eliminate avoidable blindness. As an organization, we have benefitted from their workshops, meetings, publications that have helped us identify the best standards in eye health delivery and work towards the same.
